I’m Sandra, a passionate Workday Adaptive consultant with over a decade of experience using and implementing this powerful tool. 

I've worn many hats in the Adaptive world since 2014: caps, beanies, fedoras, derbies, sombreros, berets and chapkas... Indeed: I started as a user of Adaptive as an FP&A analyst, then manager, to then become an administrator, modeler, architect, integrator and into the dark side: a consultant!  

Thanks to my software engineering background, I quickly became efficient at designing dynamic, low maintenance and user friendly models as well as writing scripts for integrations!

Whether consuming data, reporting on it, analyzing it, building complex models, or integrating systems, I've done it all. I’ve designed everything from simple models to intricate setups, including OpEx, Personnel, CapEx, Balance Sheet forecasts, Sales Commissions, ARR, COGS, and many more.

When it comes to integrations, I’ve handled it across various platforms—whether it’s NetSuite, Intacct, Workday Fins, AWS S3, Google Sheets, Power BI, SFTP, or setting up other Custom Cloud Data Sources (CCDS), I’ve got you covered.

What are Metric accounts and when to use them?

 I am often asked: "What are Metric accounts in Adaptive and what is their use case?" Before we jump into the weeds, you can create "global" metric accounts, called standard metric accounts  and within cube sheets.  To create a standard metric account, go to:  Menu > Modeling > Metric Accounts Adaptive will come with a couple of pre-built Metric accounts, such as Gross Margin % What are Metric Accounts? A metric account in Adaptive is a calculated account , meaning it carries a formula .  It does   not carry any data entry .  It can not be a rollup account,  meaning it can not have any "children accounts" rolling up to a parent. Metric accounts are typically used to calculate ratios , this is why they can only be either a number or a percent ! But... there is more subtility in them!
